A toast to the Germans' friends in the south! The Old Austria coat of arms, shown in deep relief, hand-painted is the main motif on this stein. To its left there is a replique of a collectors coin in honor to one of Austria's most famous "sons": Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Since the Austrian charme is legendary, the mofif to the right depicts a young kissing couple. Not just in ancient times but today as well, the Baltic Sea provides an efficient trade route along scenic coastlines and charming cities. To show the importance in past and present times, the stein shows an ancient Viking ship on one side and a modern cruise liner on its opposite. The front of the stein is filled with Baltic landscapes in relief as well as a Viking's portrait, giving tribute to these fearless sailors who started trade between these regions. Famous sights of cities along the Baltic route are displayed in hand-painted, deep relief on both sides.  Flags of the various Scandinavian countries, which are connected by the Baltic sea, complete this beatiful stein. The black glaze and gray and silver painting provides a very nice contrast to the three-dimensional Viking figure in the "grotto" and the helmet lid. The Viking menacingly wields his battle axe, the helmet lid was decorated with embossed Nordic symbols. The side shields were painted with silver. Fantastic mountainous landscapes, beautiful valleys, clear lakes and its unique towns are a delight to the visitor's eye. Due to its unique geograpic location, French, Italian or German are spoken in the various regions. These diverse ethnic groups also are the reason for Switzerland's diverse and excellent cuisine. But as different as the Swiss may be, they all have one thing in common: They love beer! So there are lots of good reasons that we crafted a commemorative Switzerland beer stein.
