When singing the Christmas carol "Silent Night" for its first time at the Christmas Memorial Mass on December 24, 1818 no-one of the attendees at the St. Nicolas Chapel in the village of  Oberndorf (Austria) would have expected that this song would become world famous in the future.

Today, the Silent Night Carol is sung in many countries in many different languages.
