Product information "Annual KING Werk Masterpiece -2003-Mars"

This stunning Limited Edition Collectible stein is a true masterpiece of the steinmaker’s art and is replicated from an historic Original currently in the archives of KING-WERK in Hoehr-Grenzhausen, Germany.

Sculpted by the famous Mastermodeller Peter Duemler around the year 1890, this magnificent Stein portrays famous Crusaders especially of the First Crusade (1096-1099 A.D.) dressed in full armour: Raimound IV of Toulouse (very right), Baldwin I of Edessa, Boemound of Tarent (centre panel) and Godfrey of Bouillon.

This First Crusade ended with the conquest of Jerusalem in year 1099 by christian troops.

For the following nearly 100 years Jerusalem remained under Christian governance.

In year 1187 in the Battle of Hattin, the town returned into islamic hands of Saladin, Sultan of Egypt and Syria. Saladin is also depicted on this Stein on the very left. Following were 40 years of islamic reign, until Jerusalem returned into Christian hands again in the following Crusades.

A 4-tiered conical lid of genuine pewter ornately decorated in detailed raised relief crowns this beautiful limited edition work of art.

This is the twenty-fourth in the KING-Limitaet Series of Limited Edition Steins and has a strict limitation of only 2,500 pieces worldwide.  Each Stein is individually numbered by Hand.
