A belling dominant buck in deep relief  in front of a hilly forest landscape is the main motif of this stein.

To his left are a fawn with a doe while two bucks are sparring to the right to determine their rank.

Solid pewter mit. Made in Germany - of course.

This version has the so-called "rustic" finish:

The painting has been applied without the cobalt background (under-glaze) color. The relief appears deeper than on the cobalt version and the colors are not shiny.  There is no "better" version. It's simply a matter of personal taste. If you prefer the shiny version with cobalt background, then please order the other stein

Alternatively, we do offer this stein in the so-called "cobalt, hand-painted" version as well: After the same production steps as for the "Old German Style" technique, the motifs are painted with color per hand and fired afterwards again.

Both versions have their own charme and it is just a matter of your personal taste that makes you chose what fits best to you.
