"Father Rhine" has been the spring for many fairy tales and myths. Also, it has played a great role for transportation.
Trade and business were prospering along the Rhine.
This stein shows motifs of beautiful old towns and castles which you can still admire nowadays along the River.
A proud knight on his horse is the eye catching front motif of this stein. To its left and right, the Bavarian Lion, respectively the Prussian Eagle stand for the most powerful states during this time. The Rhine flew through these states ignoring any border line.

Motifs of Sankt Goar, the Loreley, Ruedesheim and Cologne (Köln) as well as the Drachenfels ("Dragon Rock"), Castle Stahleck / the town of Bacharach are highlighted with hand-painting on this stein.
