On the Prowl Beer Stein

This proud hunter‘s stein does not have a recessed and glazed bottom- which means that it was made out of either a sample mould or cast off from the original model.

It was produced in the German Westerwald region around 1970 – 1980.

At that time handles with stylized squirrels were very popular with hunting steins, so that this stein has such a handle too.

The stein’s front shows a stag, a wild boar as well as a hunting dog.

To the left it shows a hunter wit a a shot pheasant while the hunter on the right is still stalkingl.

Original Westerwald pottery with a heavy, beautifully ornamented pewter lid.

The heavy, stained and polished pewter lid completes this stein.

Made in Germany around 1970 - 1990
