This stein is filled all over with Irish themes.
A Leprechaun is toasting with a full stein to you from the center of the stein.
Next to the "Ireland" banner is a Irish coat of arms in full relief, featuring the famous Blarney stone and the three panels of the stein depict Irish symbols like shamrocks, the Irish flag, a horse shoe, celtic knots and a harp.
The back-ground is "filled" with cobalt-blue glaze color, adding a nice contrast to the deep-relief, hand-painted motifs.

This version has the so-called "cobalt" finish: The painting has been applied with the cobalt background (under-glaze) color. The relief appears more colorful and shiny on the cobalt version vs. the rustic decór technique. There is no "better" version - It's simply a matter of personal taste. If you prefer the rustic version with cobalt background, then please order the other #1001-RU stein.
